Vintage Design
This small vase with handle is a production of the Potiers d’Accolay. Its spherical shape is original and its enamel is interesting, brown speckled with yellow, whose texture evokes the bark of a tree. Interesting and particular, it constitutes a beautiful decorative object, atypical soliflore or perfect accessory for the art of Ikebana.
The small vase is beautifully made and in very good condition. It is signed in Accolay stylus on the reverse.
12-14cm in diameter, 8cm in height.
In the middle of the 20th century, Accolay was the setting for a true revolution in ceramics. Four former students of Alexandre Kostanda settled in the small village of Yonne in the mid-1940s; many potters followed their example. For around forty years, the production of Accolay potters will be impressive, original and daring.
