18th century Louis XV Bureau Scriban Bibliotic Secretary Cabinet Mahogany Antiques LA. An important rare and Tall Scribing bibliotic secretaire Library desk of a Gentleman or a Lady. Enclosing fitted interior incorporating pigeonholes, hinged compartments.
Outstanding arch top Cornice Molded with raised and recessed, Two front upper library doors Symmetrical with beautiful Hand Metal work of the period. all present and well preserved in a formidable condition, 8 apparent drawers in middle cabinet + 4 large bottom drawers incredible attention and craftsmanship and they are all very well fitted with all original hardware hinges handles and plaques. As seen in the closeup pictures the signs of the centuries are apparent but minor considering such a large piece of furniture , such as cracks chips losses , some tightening, with multiple keys and locks . etc.. But overall outstanding condition , at the lower part it looks like a hardware is missing, that’s not the case, we have it , just needs to be mounted in place. I must say, this desk is incredibly well preserved for its age. the fitting work and the design at that level of sophistication and craftsmanship. The result that could only be achieved by big Masters. This type of furniture at that level are mostly kept with the old families, rarely to see them on the market.
