“Graeciae Antiquae Designatio Nova”
A fine example of a two-sheet map of Ancient Greece and the islands of the Aegean, divided into kingdoms.
The decorative title cartouche illustrates Greek culture, including an image of the Colossus of Rhodes.
This pair of maps was first published by Seutter c.1720; this example was published by his son-in-law and successor Tobias Lotter. See ZACHARAKIS: 3351 & 3352 for the first issues.
