Dimensions: height 19 cm / 16 cm, diameter 6 cm / 5 cm.
In good condition, the largest one bears the artisan’s hanko (name stamp).
Sosaku Kokeshi, also known as creative Kokeshi, emerged in Japan during the mid-20th century. Unlike traditional Kokeshi, which adhere to specific regional styles, Sosaku Kokeshi artists have the freedom to experiment and create unique designs, often employing modern artistic techniques. This contemporary approach has resulted in a diverse range of styles and interpretations, making Sosaku Kokeshi an engaging and dynamic form of Japanese folk art.
