Vintage Design
Wonderful pair of candlesticks made of gilded bronze at the beginning of the 20th century in France. Simple structure, the shaft of the piece is a sculpture of a triton playing the trumpet, all made with great detail. At the top, the candle holder itself. It is an iconography whose origin is found in classical mythology. The lower half of its body is that of an aquatic animal and in this case it has a single tail. In the 18th century, Bernini referred to Triton as Neptune’s trumpeter.
It is a magnificent piece, worthy of a collector, brimming with neoclassical splendor.
