This piece is inspired by traditional Japanese ceramic art.
Dorothea Chabert experimented with various types of glazes. She was in intensive exchange with artists from to Japan over many years.
The artist came to Wolfsburg in 1975 and lived in the west-wing of Wolfsburg castle, where she also had her ceramic studio in the remise. She was educated at the Berlin Academy of Art and founded a total of four ceramic studios during her career and taught at the Braunschweig University of Art (HBK).
Dorothea Chabert’s work was part of 80 national and international exhibitions.
