The set is in very good condition and has acquired a beautiful patina. Both dolls are signed at the bottom.
Traditional kokeshi, also known as “dento” kokeshi, are simple wooden dolls that have been crafted in Japan for centuries. They have a cylindrical shape with a round head and are often adorned with hand-painted flower motifs. Kokeshi dolls were originally made as toys for children but are now also cherished as decorative objects and collectibles. Each region in Japan has its own unique style and designs of kokeshi, representing a rich cultural tradition.
